Southgate Foodcourt Refurbishment
Southgate Centre Management is thrilled to announce the exciting Food Court Refurbishment project. The new Food Court which is valued at over R40 million will offer a unique eat-out and dining experience that boosts seating capacity of over 500, a giant LED screen with a live DSTV and stage for entertainment.
The project seeks to create a layered dining experience held together by an array of cultural cues and biophilic touchpoints that soften the experience and appeal to everyone’s affinity to art, nature, colour texture and pattern. The inspiration behind the design of the new food court is influenced by the need to create an aspirational place that transports customers outside of the conventional Food Court environment.
The Food Court upgrade and refurbishment will complement the work already done to the centre which includes the Value Market and Ablutions refurbishment projects that took place in 2017. This project will build on Pareto’s commitment to customer service and further Pareto’s commitment to developing, owning and operating world-class retail facilities. The project is scheduled to commence on the 29th of July and will be completed in time for the festive trade.
We would like to congratulate Zama Mathunjwa from Tyger Valley Shopping Centre.

Menlyn Park Call & Connect Service Coming Soon
The Covid19 pandemic has forced businesses to operate and act outside the norm while still trying to keep afloat and retain customers. Within retail and Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, there has been an initiative from the marketing department to come up with or amplify already existing ways of operating within the marketing space.
Menlyn has set a very clear digital marketing objective for the department which will focus on visiting digital territories previously suggested or overlooked. The marketing department came up with a Call and Collect system located at the P6 red parking near the food court entrance. Communication was sent to all food and restaurant tenants encouraging them to take part in the initiative by creating a dedicated contact point for customers who will order food at P6 red and have it delivered to their vehicle from the restaurant. The feedback from the restaurants was great with a total of 12 tenants onboard for the call and collect.
