ASI, our appointed Healthcare and Retirement Fund Advisory Consultants, hosted a series of member roadshow sessions in October.
Each of the two-hour sessions was full of information to help members make an informed decision on their most suitable medical scheme option for 2022.

December closing period and leave: Everything you need to know


Q: When is the office closing in December 2021?

A: Pareto and Mowana will shut down from 17 December to 31 December 2021 (10 days, all-inclusive).
Employees who do not have sufficient leave days left to cover the shutdown period will be allowed to draw from next year’s entitlement.


Q: Is the December closure leave compulsory?

A: This is a compulsory closure as provided for in the leave policy. Employees are expected to use their annual leave for this period and process it through the Employee Self-Service (ESS) system on or before 30 November 2021.


Those who do not take the compulsory leave (whether on stipulated or alternative dates) will forfeit their 10 days’ entitlement.


Q: Is the December closure leave applicable to all employees?

A: We have asked General Managers and Centre Managers to identify the critical staff needed to manage the centres during this period and submit the names to HR. The affected employees will be allowed to take their leave after the festive period but before 31 January 2022.
